Russell Cave the Overlooked National Monument
The Cumberland Plateau continues to offer remarkable opportunities for conservation and outdoor recreation. This region of Tennessee, stretching across the elevated tableland between the Tennessee Valley and the Highland Rim, remains one of the most biodiverse areas in the eastern United States.
Educational outreach remains a cornerstone of our conservation strategy. By introducing young people to the natural world through guided hikes, nature journaling workshops, and citizen science projects, we cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards. Several schools in the region have adopted outdoor classrooms adjacent to protected natural areas.
