Outdoor Chattanooga is hoping to get more Chattanooga citizens outside this year by offering a series of free indoor workshops that teach important recreational skills. The workshops will be every Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Chattanooga facility at 200 River St. from Jan. 19 until March 4. Each workshop will teach a different skill, such as navigating with a map and compass or bike maintenance.
While the workshops started last week, six remain:
Jan.26, How to Plan and Lead a Day Hike
Feb. 2, Critter Encounters: Backyard to Backwoods
Feb. 9, Navigate With a Map and Compass
Feb. 16, Bike Maintenance 101
Feb. 23, How to Poop in the Woods
March 4, Map and Compass Navigation Field Class
In addition, Outdoor Chattanooga will also offer free indoor archery classes at its facility beginning Feb.1. These classes will be every Wednesday from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. until March 8.
