I strolled through Shakerag Hollow on the Domain at the University of the South this weekend, looking for wildflowers to photograph. There were a few out, but it seemed to be just a bit early in the season yet. Typically, they peak around the middle of April. If you're not familiar with the section of Sewanee's Perimeter Trail that runs through Shakerag Hollow, it's the best place I know of in the South Cumberland region to see a virtual cornucopia of spring wildflowers.
